Devastating - Read It and Weep

Is Child Protective Services Trafficking Children?

Newsweek recently ran an article by Michael Dolce called "We Have Set Up a System to Sex Traffic American Kids," in which he dropped staggering statistics that should make American parents take action.
Here’s the ugly truth: most Americans who are victims of sex trafficking come from our nation’s own foster care system. It’s a deeply broken system that leaves  thousands vulnerable to pimps as children and grooms them for the illegal sex trade as young adults...Most people don’t know about our nation’s foster care to sex trafficking pipeline, but the facts are sobering. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) found that “of the more than 18,500 endangered runaways reported to NCMEC in 2016,  one in six were likely victims of child sex trafficking. Of those, 86 percent were in the care of social services when they went missing.
The outcomes of law enforcement efforts against sex traffickers repeatedly support the NCMEC estimate. In a 2013 FBI 70-city nationwide raid, 60 percent of the victims came from foster care or group homes. In 2014, New York authorities estimated that 85 percent of sex trafficking victims were previously in the child welfare system.
In 2012, Connecticut police rescued 88 children from sex trafficking; 86 were from the child welfare system. And even more alarming: the FBI discovered in a 2014 nationwide raid that many foster children rescued from sex traffickers, including children as young as 11, were never reported missing by child welfare authorities.
In Kansas, the number of missing foster children prompted a class-action lawsuit this past November. Local Wichita press reported the heinous claims:
On Friday, a class-action lawsuit was filed in federal court against Gov. Jeff Colyer and Gina Meier-Hummel, secretary of the state’s child welfare system, along with officials of two other agencies, claiming children in the Kansas foster care system have been treated so poorly that they’ve suffered mentally or fled from foster homes. In some cases, they have been trafficked for sex, sexually abused inside adoptive homes or in one instance reportedly raped inside a child welfare office, the suit says.
Kansas authorities have only been able to recover 18 of the 81 missing children in the foster system. Interestingly, the effort to find the missing children did not get started until after the lawsuit was filed, according to the Wichita Eagle. According to the numbers, all 50 states have similar problems.
Now deceased Georgia Senator Nancy Schaefer wrote extensively on the CPS abuse and corruption and fought hard while she was alive to bring awareness to the sex trafficking happening through corrupt government institutions. Schaefer was a leading voice against CPS and discovered many abuses until she was murdered in what authorities say was a murder suicide committed by her husband. Many people who work in the same field of uncovering CPS abuse do not believe the official findings. The news coverage of her death never even mentioned her life's work, which was exposing the financial corruption of the state child welfare system that takes children away from imperfect and often poor but loving homes in exchange for federal dollars.
In 2007, Nancy Schaefer wrote a report to the Georgia Assembly that detailed the abuses she uncovered:
In this report, I am focusing on the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS). However, I believe Child Protective Services nationwide has become corrupt and that the entire system is broken almost beyond repair. I am convinced parents and families should be warned of the dangers.
The Department of Child Protective Services, known as the Department of Family and Children Service (DFCS) in Georgia and other titles in other states, has become a “protected empire” built on taking children and separating families. This is not to say that there are not those children who do need to be removed from wretched situations and need protection. This report is concerned with the children and parents caught up in “legal kidnapping,” ineffective policies, and DFCS who do does not remove a child or children when a child is enduring torment and abuse. (See Exhibit A and Exhibit B)
The report is riveting and must be read in its entirety, but some of the most damaging information she revealed included that CPS is a for-profit business that depends on the removal of children in order to get paid.
The Adoption and the Safe Families Act, set in motion by President Bill Clinton, offered cash “bonuses” to the states for every child they adopted out of foster care. In order to receive the “adoption incentive bonuses” local child protective services need more children. They must have merchandise (children) that sell and you must have plenty of them so the buyer can choose. Some counties are known to give a $4,000 bonus for each child adopted and an additional $2,000 for a “special needs” child. Employees work to keep the federal dollars flowing;
• that there is double dipping. The funding continues as long as the child is out of the home. When a child in foster care is placed with a new family then “adoption bonus funds” are available. When a child is placed in a mental health facility and is on 16 drugs per day, like two children of a constituent of mine, more funds are involved;
• that there are no financial resources and no real drive to unite a family and help keep them together;
What better way for child predators to find a pool of children to prey on? Foster children are considered at "high risk" for abuse. Meanwhile, biological parents are gagged by illegal court orders from talking to the press about having their children unfairly removed from them and put into a system set up to abuse them.
Thousands of parents report to Medical Kidnap the illegal gag orders imposed upon them by judges who claim to want "privacy for the child." This is the state's excuse for trying to silence the free speech of parents who are being railroaded by a system set up to destroy their families. At the same time, states put the photographs of the children who have had their parents ripped away from them by the state onto websites anyone can access — the sites include their names and sometimes details about the abuse they have suffered — in order to get them "adopted."
How this is good for the privacy of the child is a mystery. The websites have a creepy feel to them because they allow anyone to search for a child in the foster system by gender, age, and "at-risk" status. It's like Amazon for kid shopping. Known pedophiles have admitted to searching foster care sites in order to find children to abuse.
Nathan Larson, who ran for Congress in Virginia this year, posted in online forums about this very thing. As reported by the Huffington Post, Larson wrote:
Why doesn’t every pedo just focus on making money so they can get a pedo-wife and then either impregnate her with some f***toys or adopt some f***toys? That would accommodate both those who are and aren’t into incest. And of course, the adoption process lets you pick a boy or a girl.
He is correct. Here is a website called Adopt Us Kids, where children's photographs are posted from every state with personal information about them. This ad from the Kentucky Adoption Profile Exchange is so disturbing — it reads like a personal ad for a child searching for her next abuser.
Please meet Jasmine. Jasmine is a beautiful and bright young lady who likes to keep everyone entertained! ....Jasmine is really a people pleaser and looks to others or reassurance for a job well done...Jasmine will do best as the youngest child in a family that has structure, patience and the knowledge of the effects of trauma on children. (Emphasis mine)
This is an advertisement for an abused child who is at very high risk for more abuse. This website is not behind any password protection for verified eligible parents. It's open for the general public to browse through. Her face is not blacked out on the site (but is here for her privacy). A person like Nathan Larson looking for children to abuse is given a veritable menu of children at risk in his neighborhood by the state! This flies in the face of all the judges claiming that parents who are suffering parental rights termination must be gagged for the "privacy of the child." If they were truly concerned with their privacy, they would not put them online for predators to browse through.
Countless parents have contacted parental rights organizations and advocates like Nancy Schaefer with stories of being forced to give up their parental rights — under the threat of never being able to see them again if they don't — then watched their children adopted out to others through websites just like this one. Most of these parents have never been charged with a crime, never spent one day in criminal court, and yet had their rights removed by a civil court judge. Not only that, but grandparents are regularly denied custody in favor of strangers.
Why is this allowed? Why are children removed from families without warrants or trials by jury in criminal court? Any Google search for "family court corruption" will show you pages of horror stories of parents denied due process. Where is the outcry? There is no shortage of news reports of foster care abuse, like the Texas CPS caseworker arrested for soliciting sex with a minor, or the pedophile ring found in Arizona foster care that abused countless foster children, selling them for sex over and over for decades, or the many stories of foster care group home abuse where minors were sold into prostitution.
These stories are enough to break your heart many times over, like the case of Jesse Williams, whose "adoptive mother" tied him and his siblings to beds and forced them to urinate and defecate in their rooms. He had no food in the refrigerator when he went missing and turned up dead in the desert. Even news agencies are reluctant to admit that this woman they call his "mother" was his foster parent. The term "adoptive mother" only appears once in this report, and in all other reports she is referred to as his mother. The truth is, we don't know who his real family is or why he was put into a home where CPS investigated and found abusive conditions so numerous as to require reams of paper to report it. They did not remove him or the other children until after Jesse was found dead. No one has gone to jail for his death, even though a cadaver dog alerted to the trunk of his adopted "mother's" car and there are stacks of CPS reports showing that she abused him constantly.
These types of stories are happening all over the country. Where are the congressional advocates for these children and families like the ones in Nancy Schaefer's report? Perhaps they're nervous they'll wind up just like them if they expose this billion-dollar industry. CPS needs to be investigated yesterday by the feds to find out what exactly they've been doing to American families.
The closing remarks in Schaefer's 2007 report are still valid today. "I have witnessed such injustice and harm brought to these families that I am not sure if I even believe reform of the system is possible! The system cannot be trusted. It does not serve the people. It obliterates families and children simply because it has the power to do so. Children deserve better. Families deserve better. It’s time to pull back the curtain and set our children and families free."

That Lying Dog!

Once in awhile I come out of my murky, confused, "don't know which way to turn" existence but that is rare now that I am 'aged'. The only good aged I know about is a chunk of cheese! Life has been going downhill for quite a spell and continues to worsen by the day; actually even by the hour as I have lately observed.  This is not good! Living alone sometimes becomes a tragedy for some people and that is where I have landed.  Others tell me it is my own fault, that I need to get busy.  Stop this, stop that, do this or do that! Everyone seems to have the solution to every problem and issue that I can't seem to solve on my own.  Used to be I ran circles around any and everyone.  Has to do with ... is it metabolism? Well, I Did - the truth.  Those days passed though. with my never realizing they would, I now stand alone with that fact and angry with the realization of what it feels like to become old.  Hmph, even my doctor exclaimed to me recently "78's not old at all".  Well apparently at her age and condition, she knows nothing of the physical issues I have and is attending some amazingly healthy active patients that she is comparing me against.

One issue of mine is lack of money, money to hire someone to help with the chores I can no longer do but had to in times past, which wound up 'breaking my back'.  That's a main issue now- my back, not only the back but the full skeleton is in decline. Every six months I get an injection for the bones but it appears it is not working as it should.  And let me tell you, that bony structure is of critical need if we expect to live a productive life.  You may even know this by now.  I often somewhat weirdly/jokingly compare life for a human to a cabbage but it applies to anything that is living.  We/the cabbage starts out as a perfect little specimen, raring and ready to go/develop.  Over time, it grows into a beautiful cabbage if it is given good care and plucked at its perfection. But if not plucked, nature will take its course and it begins a downhill slide and starts to deteriorate.  In time, that healthy 'cabbage' becomes a real mess residing in the garden, finally rotting away.  Same thing a human experiences on its forward downhill march to death.

As for the lack of money, there seems to be a worse issue, for even if one has the money these days, you will rarely find a soul who is willing to work anymore or else when you do, they want a war pension per hour and then do the least they can get by with.  Certainly this is the bald truth in my area. A story: my furnace went out some time ago.  I was in the process of recuperating from a major artery and aorta fix in the dead of winter with dire pain and inability to put one foot in front of the other.  It's a Sunday, called a furnace man to find out what it would cost me for him to come take a look and fix it- only $500 for the house call! Just to drive out to my home.  Talking about defeat!  That did it.

Well baloney, there is no use or need to go on with my tales of woe.  It does nothing for you who reads this and certainly doesn't improve anything for me.  Reckon I just got sidetracked from what this post is truly about.  Yet, let me finish for a second.  Living in and under current conditions, it is a rarity that anything makes me smile or laugh out loud but this meme below did the trick for me very early this morning.

Let's see if it will give you the same satisfaction.  If it doesn't, a pity.  I'm seeing a tiny possibility of a ray of sun out the window, so that in itself gives me hope for this day, If'n it doesn't turn out to be another brain-frying humid and 88-93 degree day.  So, take a look at this picture and have a good grin.

Why Today's Crazy World

There are very few  'out there'  who cannot understand and benefit from this message.  It brings out a main reason why our world is topsy-turvy and full of negativity, violence, suicide, anxiety, depression.  A clinical psychologist speaks very in depth why our world today is as it is and how it has been created deliberately by the social media venues to create today's world.  The discussion runs for more than an hour but I guarantee you will be so much better informed and most likely able to turn this chaotic world back to one where sanity will arise.  Please watch the video closely (it is quite fast paced) and then pass this on to others so they too will learn the 'why' of our critical situation and a solution to turn it back to a great degree of normalcy.

The Sea Gypsy Philosopher, My Guest Today

Essay by Ray Jason enlightens me and hopefully you that the wars of our world are not your or my doing but by those in high power, who only create the chaos for their benefit, financially or by whatever means to have control.  Money is the main game they are playing  We as civilians, as a whole, do not want this constant strife of war or rumors of war.  We want peace and a calm life.  All the chaotic BS that is occurring in the world is created by all those Creatures who are in controlling positions.  They use us by giving us lies and disinformation constantly and I'm not speaking of the current Creatures only but this has occurred since time immemorial.  My straying a bit off course, let me now give you the words of Mr. Jason that he first wrote in 2013.  He begins the essay speaking of two Creatures in our current time, Bolton and Pompeo then leads into his repeated words from 2013. This is long so use patience.

As Bolton and Pompeo - who are a human Axis of Psychosis -  attempt to force the U.S. into a war with Iran, it seems like a good time to re-post my most heart-felt anti-war essay.  This was first published in 2013 just as Obama was about to lob Cruise Missiles into Syria.  Fortunately, international opinion and lack of support from England was sufficient pressure to restrain him.

Of my 120 essays, this was the one that received the most appreciation and support from my readers.  I hope it touches you.

NEVER STOP RUNNING, NAPALM GIRL!!!

by Ray Jason
The Sea was mild and soothing as I sailed alone in the western reaches of the Caribbean.  It had been four days since my last human contact.  Such exile does not disturb me - it comforts me.  The wind was light, and the waves were small and melodious - like the cello phrase in a string quartet.
Although quite relaxed, I was also vigilant, because my position was near the busy shipping lanes between the Panama Canal and the Yucatan Channel.  Suddenly, I sensed a nearby hazard.  My first scan of the horizon revealed nothing.  On my second, more careful sweep, I saw her – a gray smudge of a ship, still half below the undulating cusp of the Earth.  I took my binoculars from their rack and focused them.  What I saw slammed me backwards - both physically and emotionally.   She was one of them – a gray, military transport vessel that was all too familiar to me.  I had served aboard one - a U.S. Navy ammunition ship in Vietnam.

                                    *******
I had not willingly done so.  I had been drafted just after receiving my bachelor’s degree.  My first decision was whether to flee to Canada, as my courageous college roommate had done, or to let them take me.  My next choice was between a two year Army enlistment or the four-year Navy sentence.  Wishing to neither kill nor be killed because of anyone’s insipid “domino theory,” I chose the USN.  As someone who survived higher education with my capacity for critical thinking still intact, I already knew that war was horrible and this particular one was senseless and despicable.  I was not an ideal recruit.
The toughest part of my service was being a closet pacifist aboard a ship full of gung-ho, pseudo-warriors.  And these were the worst kind - the swaggering, macho types, who had the luxury of never facing any real combat.  I kept my secret to myself, just as I kept my self to myself.  In fact, I do not have a single friend from that chapter of my life.  When I would go ashore and meet actual soldiers, they were not gung-ho at all.  They were beaten down and regretful and frightened - and wanted only to be away from there…to be home…to be far from all that madness.
I never talk about this with my friends.  And it rarely enters my consciousness.  But that dark ship on the horizon, transporting munitions and mutilation to who knows which target this time, just staggered me.  To ease my anguish, I tried the comfort of my favorite classical music.  It didn’t work, and neither did dousing myself with buckets of sea water.  Although I resisted, I knew that the only way out of my agony was to burrow deeper into it.

                                   *******
So I brought out her picture.  I keep it protected in an envelope hidden in one of my favorite books.  I unfolded it tenderly, and gazed one more time at all the evil, meaningless terror of war captured in a single frozen instant from 40 years ago.  I spoke to her once more as I had done many other times down the decades, when I needed solace:
“Hello again, Napalm Girl.  Keep on running!  There must be some place, somewhere, free from this horror and insanity.  You must find that place.  You deserve that place.  Never stop running!!!”
She is crying out, “Too hot!  Too hot!” as she flees.  Grotesque flaming jelly from the sky has burned most of the little dress from her nine year old body.  The rest she ripped off herself as she kept running and screaming “I’m dying!  I’m dying!”
When the heroic photographer got to her, she was whimpering, “Water, water.”  He emptied his canteen on her.  With ferocious determination, through insane traffic, he managed to get her to a hospital in Saigon.  They said she was so badly burned that she would never live and they would not accept her.  He flashed his Associated Press photo credentials and said, “Don’t let this child die or everyone will hear about it!”  They took her in.  And they saved her.
That Vietnamese photographer, Nick Ut, deeply understood the ravages of war.  His older brother, who was his personal hero, had already died photographing the misery of combat.  When Nick answered the call of basic human decency, and rescued that terrified little girl, he had no idea that on the film in his camera was one of the most profound and powerful photographs of all time.  He was only 19 years old.
Even though the immortal Napalm Girl picture touches me in my core being, it is the one with her mother sitting beside her in the hospital that truly haunts me.  The woman’s quiet dignity as she comforts her innocent frightened child overwhelms me.  In her noble, image, I can see what an almost unbearable burden but blessing it is to be a Woman, and to be a Mother, in this world of torment.  And it sickens me to realize that it is almost always men that cause this needless anguish.
Decades later, I can still imagine their likely conversation as the child asks the mother, “What was that horrible fire that fell from the sky?”
And the mom might reply, “It was some terrible new weapon - like a bomb, but different.”
“But why did they drop it on us?” asks the little girl.  “We were just children and old people hiding in the temple from the planes.  We didn’t hurt anybody!”
My guess is that the heroic mother, overwhelmed with grief by the sight of her incinerated child, might have said something like this.  “I do not know the answer, my beautiful daughter.  But I do know that you survived this horrible thing, and your pain will go away and you will heal.  And someday, life will be sweet and sensible again.  Now, try to go to sleep, and when you awake, I will be right here beside you.”
                               *******
Kim with one of her children.
The dark gray death ship passed a few miles ahead of me, and has now disappeared beyond the horizon.  But even though it is no longer visible, its malignancy still torments me.  I stare again at little Kim’s photo in my hands, and ask myself, “How can I best honor her suffering?”  And then I realize that what makes her pain-wracked image so universal and so immortal is that it lays bare the true nature of war.  And that the best way to repay my gratitude, is to use my power as a writer, to further expose this loathsome evil.
                              *******
Tragically, as I type these words, the war drums are beating again.  The Deceiver-in-Chief has scheduled a national address in which he will knowingly lie about the need for this latest “regrettable but necessary action.”  Then the commentators will babble on about “sufficient justification” and “reprisals” and “surgical strikes.  But they will never discuss what war actually is.  And that is because, at its core, it is sick and perverted and senseless.
If someone invades your home and threatens your family, it is your right and your responsibility to protect them, even if it necessitates violence.  This type of personal duty is decent, courageous and just.  But war is the killing of human beings with whom we have no personal grievance.  War is Mass Psychotic Hypnosis.  But it is never initiated by ordinary people.  One morning at breakfast, a million Norwegians do not spontaneously decide that it would be a good idea to invade Ireland that afternoon.
No, this type of insanity can only be seeded and nurtured by certifiable sociopaths.  Unfortunately, we don’t call them lunatics, and banish them to asylums.  Instead we anoint them as political and religious leaders.  These diseased power addicts use cold-blooded manipulation to convince enormous groups of people that other groups of people are their enemies…and so they must go forth…and annihilate them.
Nick and Kim at the Vietnam Vets Memorial
.
Here is another truth about war that the self-righteous, talking heads deliberately avoid.  Those who make the wars never have to fight the wars.  The Great Deciders will never be in a night ambush, where the fear is so overpowering that their bodily control abandons them, and they shit themselves.  And the defense contractors, engorged on obscene profits, will never have to kick open a mud hut door after strafing it with automatic weapons fire, and discover a heap of dead children beneath a wounded mother, who is so traumatized that she cannot even scream.  And the media tycoons cheerleading for more carnage, will never rush to the flag-draped coffin of a dead son or daughter and wrap themselves around it in fury as the military band tries to sound heroic.
And here is yet another profound truth that the acceptable, credentialed pundits never state:  War doesn’t work!  It never makes the world a better place.  For thousands of years, humanity has waged hundreds of wars, but they never achieve their supposedly noble ideals.  They never “end all wars” or “bring everlasting peace” or “insure self-determination” or any of the dozen other excuses that are used to incite people to massacre one another.  What it does succeed at doing is bringing misery, murder, mutilation and madness to ordinary, decent people.
So listen carefully as the highly paid military and political analysts parade across your television screens, proclaiming the need for this latest “kinetic action.”  Observe how these shrewd distorters evade the three paramount characteristics of war that I have just discussed.  None of them will address what war really is.  Nor will they mention that those who benefit from war do not suffer its horrors.  And finally, they will not admit that war never brings good into the world and is actually a plague that sickens the human project.
                              *******

Recognizing that war is Mass Psychotic Hypnosis, how do we overcome those who mesmerize us?   How do we break free from their spell?  Certainly our liberation will not come from those at the top.  War rewards them too handsomely.
We must rely on our numbers.  We are many, they are few.  When the chant from the anti-Vietnam protests, “Hell, no…we won’t go!” became a reality and not just a slogan, the war machine sputtered and died.  Refusal is our best strategy.  We must refuse to serve in their militaries or in their terror cells.  We must refuse to resolve disputes through violence.  And if they incarcerate us for our resistance, that is a better fate than killing someone who is not an enemy.  And when enough of us refuse, their prisons are not large enough to hold us.
I am perfectly mindful that such thinking is idealistic and foolhardy, but perhaps it will inspire others to come forth with better options for ending war.  Yet, even if such ideals are useless, we must try - if for no other reason than to honor Kim Phuc, the Napalm Girl.  We must sculpt a world where an innocent little girl does not have to race down a road with the flesh peeling off her body, trying to outrun her own death!

I urge you to visit www.kimfoundation.com.  Dedicated to helping other children who are victims of war.

Almost every day something utterly insipid "goes viral" on the World Wide Web.  Perhaps we can help spread this little essay at this critical time when the war drums are again thundering Inside the Beltway.  By doing so, we can all honor the Napalm Girl.
