I never touched step 1.  I'm on Steps 2, 3 & 4, ramped-up to to reach the top.  What else is there to say?

Jan 12, 2018 - Nearly $300000 in taxpayer funds has been spent to settle 13 claims against members of Congress or their offices since 2003.
 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was astounded when first reading about this action some time ago.  Maybe you aren't aware how we are completely governed?  That could be, but the good advice to me was to open my eyes.  I did and my astonishment is growing, minute by minute, learning of the ghastly  decisions and expenditures paid for by the 'sweat of the brow' from taxpayers labors.  No wonder a civilization finally fails.
This Taxpayer Fund for settlement of sexual harassment is outrageous.  Every decision for Congress to vote for ANYTHING requiring outlay of money (always) is on the backs of we, the taxpayers - every last cent!
Every last cent should be used wisely, without negative effects for "we the ruled". Taking my taxes to cushion someone's wrongdoing is what I consider a pure scam.  Scams are the name of the game these days and you know this if you have your eyes/brain functioning correctly.  I'm old but I'm not stupid.  I see fairly well.
I certainly don't agree with this "settling" fund.  This business reminds me of how Congress can vote itself a raise every whip-stitch, without our input whatsoever.  Why should we taxpayers be obligated to back the misdeeds of someone we the people have selected to represent us in truth, honesty, and fair and upright dealings?  If it was you or I 'dabbling in disgrace' we most likely would be serving a jail or prison sentence.
One headline from ABC News today is an example of the lack of integrity of a representative: https://www.yahoo.com/gma/disgraced-former-congressman-blake-farenthold-won-t-repay-201005417--abc-news-topstories.html
We must raise our voices before such expenditures are put into action in the first place!  We must open our eyes and know who we are putting into a highly responsible position to our benefit.  Change is definitely needed.
Totally disgraceful, Washington Reps!  Totally irresponsible actions you often decide on.
Now whine when one day you are kicked in the butt, Old Reps.  That's called Karma.  I can only hope it is a Swift Kick in the 'arse' via your pocketbook!
