Eyes to the Front, PleasePlink, plink, splat...whoops, lost two out of three. At $154 for 75 drops one should be more careful. Unsteady hand this morning. I guess it must be excitement of the fact that my ordeal is soon to be finished. Three more weeks of drops for this one 'old girl' who never used eyedrops in her life, except on a couple long ago needful (wink) occasions!
The second cataract removal took place last Thursday...and an ordeal it surely was, nothing like the first removal process.
All I got to say is: don't complain or the anestheologist might get revenge! Mine did...with a solemn face! I screamed from the pain he caused shooting his meds too fast into my vein before going to the operating room. A long story that I won't go into here except to say the pre-op routine was a total bad screw-up this second go-round.
The surgeon did have some soothing classical music playing though...guess he didn't know I could see that huge needle coming at me and felt the chop, chop, chop and certainly couldn't have been aware of how his pre-op people took revenge...surely he didn't! I really enjoyed the music.
Now don't let this scare you from getting your cataracts removed when necessary. Everyone isn't like I am. Side issues with other pain is of no concern for those prepping an eye patient. They could care less about your "other" medical issues. If I had it to do over though, I'd think about overdosing on some pain reliever beforehand.
What's important though is the fact I walk about now without eyeglasses. I do catch myself reaching up to adjust the non-existent pair sliding down my nose though. Then I grin foolishly at myself. Habits are hard to change, I guess.
Weather Change Coming
Once the holidays are past and days start getting longer with the winter solstice, I tend to think I've topped the hill of winter and slipping toward spring. Ha, ha, what grand delusions I give myself. (hmm, what happened here? What's with this black text?)
Old Man Winter is getting ready for a long visit here, I fear. That frost and dense fog a couple days ago did give a mysterious view but talking about biting cold; it was. Can't say I recall foggy mornings when its bitter outside.
The coming week is calling for temps in the teens and only mid 30s during the day. I don't relish this. I should not complain though for I know some of you are having a much colder time coping this winter. This month's heat bill is what has gotten me rattled though...close to $200 and yet I was chilling daily and the dogs certainly could use a sweater. Santa failed to come through.
Just "Mention and You Receive", is it?
Our fair city leaders decided a rate increase was in order; and so our fair city "fathers" raised it 4%; I'd heard some time ago they
How all these people running our world think we taxpayers are just loaded plus having a moneytree out in the backyard to pluck $extra$ from is beyond me.
Be aware I'm in a bitching mood this morning. Having heard from someone down in Arizona about the many homeless living in tents and so hungry, possibly starving...
coupled with reading about the Obamas doing their multi-million $$ vacationing in Hawaii - $4 million, to be exact; and Michelle flying down (before her husband's business in Washington got wrapped up) to the tune of $100,000 extra - I believe most of us has reason to bitch.
Seems we are getting our nose
Excuse me a minute while I dip these weevils out of my breakfast oats! Literally, lads and ladies!
What I'm reading and learning about the situations that abound worldwide AND the 'closer to home experiences' myself is enough to cripple one's mind, to say the least.
Yet, the beat goes on and new ones entering the scene promise us Good Change if only we will put an X by their name in an upcoming election. Yeah, yeah, I hear you, fellows and gals; ye all out here practically promising us "roses blooming in the snow".
What a crock and a mess has been created by all those who rule the roost and feather their nests.

Hey! Don't apologize for the black print... it made it MUCH easier to read your post!
Glad your eye surgery is behind you, in spite of the problems, you will be able to see so much better. My cataracts are very slow growing... but my eyes tire easily. Dry eye syndrome, macular degeneration, etc... old age, in other words!
Have a better 2012!
