19 degrees! Freezing my butt off. Taped windows not working! Outer storm windows covered with a layer of ice. Winter hasn't officially arrived! Reckon this is a year to dig deeper and be raising the outside surrounding space with my escaping heat.
Think I'll crawl back under the covers now.
Crawling is the key word. The dogs woke me hours ago, thundering to get outside. What animal was it out there able to handle such bitter cold? I pity it. Bless its tiny frosty feet and its hunger so late in the night.

Raccoons are amazing scavengers, too. Excellent climbers. Good at toting stuff out of the yard. They have been seen carrying the cat's dishes out to the woods.
We call them coonie bears to remind the kids they are in the bear family.
I'd forgotten about raccoons. One the size of a cub bear stood scratching at my back door few years ago. Was I amazed? You betcha!
My, My! I'm off the puter for a couple of weeks and you get into all kinds of stuff! I would have cut that orange monster in half before I carried it inside.
Did you get my e mail I send on Dec 6th?
You sound like you could use some light colored window quilts for your windows. You also can tape bubble wrap to the windows and insulate them alittle better. Good luck with the cold. We are lucky if it gets in the 30's down here.
19 would be cold here in the Willamette Valley too, but it was considered warm when I lived in Minnesota (where our house was insulated with newspapers). I hope you were able to warm up.
Oh bless your heart. I hope you find some way to stay warm this winter
Love ya
Maggie
